The Adoption Fee is not enough to cover the vet bills. Some dogs do not have the temperament that will do well with young children. Policies: You do not have to have a fence to adopt a dog from us, but some dogs will require a fence or acres to play, or an active family who will make sure the dog gets the exercise it needs to be happy. is an all volunteer, foster based, no kill rescue! You can see almost all of our dogs on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month from 11 am - 2 pm at Lakeville PetSmart (located by Hy-Vee just off 160th & Pilot Knob). We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, & 3 months. Sometimes there is more that comes out about a dog's personality once they have been able to settle in a home & truly become comfortable. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home. Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. But my foster mom is happy to talk to you, if you want to meet me! If you want to know more about me, or would like to meet me, you can reach my foster mom at: I really don't like other animals, I will not make it to adoption events, they just stress me out. I really am the best dog you will ever meet! My foster mom says I am going to make a family VERY happy, and I believe her!

I enjoy having toys available, and like the chew on bones. I am fully house trained, and just the most loving dog ever. I am peacefully coexisting with the other foster dogs at my foster, but when it’s my turn for attn (and I want a lot of turns), I will growl at the other dogs to keep them away. I have no interest sharing my humans with another animal. I have done fine being out all day, but I’m supervised. I don’t love to be crated, and my foster family is home nearly all the time. I will come with an impact crate because of this. My previous owners said I could be a bit mischievous when left alone, and could escape from most crates. I do well with the teens in my foster home though, so I think I would do best in a home with kids 10 and older. I did not like the babies and growled at them. I was owner surrendered when my humans had babies. I love to cuddle on the sofa, curl up on my dog bed and just want to be your best friend! I have the softest and shiniest long coat, and will let you rub my belly for hours! I am the sweetest girl you will ever meet. Hello! I’m Hollie, a 45 lb basset mix, who is 5 years old.
